"Wimpy Kid" author says elementary-school experience inspired him

Jeff Kinney, author of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book series, returned to his Maryland elementary school this week and said his experience there more than 30 years ago helped inspire his writing. During the appearance, in honor of American Education Week, Kinney told students they should overcome setbacks and work to achieve their goals.
