WARM UP: Different math word problem and writing prompts will be given daily.

DAY 1

OBJECTIVES:
After the lesson, students will be able to:

DAY 2

OBJECTIVES:
After the lesson, students will be able to:
- compare fractions with unlike denominators using the least common multiple.

WHOLE CLASS DISCUSSION:

PAIR & SHARE: Ask students to get their partner. Show these PPT slides as a review and answer the activities by teams.

DAY 5

OBJECTIVES:

After the lesson, students will be able to:
- perform a rap using the concepts learned with our lesson in fractions.

MATERIALS:
Each group presentation will be recorded in a CD and will be uploaded to the class website. Materials needed are:
- Laptop with Audacity software
- Microphone connected to the laptop
- Fractions rap lyrics

METHODS & STRATEGIES:
GROUP DISCUSSION: "Everyone enjoys various types of music." Music and mathematics are closely intertwined. The pitch of a musical note is determined by the frequency or vibrations per second, of the sound waves emanating from the instrument. The volume is determined by the amplitude of the waves. Understanding the relationship of harmonic and discordant notes requires a study of their relative frequencies. Today, I want you all to discover the beauty and uniqueness of math and music. Everyone get ready to show what you got. Let's begin.
PAIR & SHARE: Call on each pair and ask them to share to the class their presentation. Record while they are rapping.
PRODUCT: The recordings will be uploaded to the class blog to be shared to a wider audience.
