Masterpieces by Exceptional Child: KANISHA M.

THIS IS WHERE I CAME FROM

I am from flowers and candies
I am from Debbiedoy and Yolanda
I am from brown eyes and mixed colors
I am from jeans and shoes
I am from a family with busted fumes…

I am from a state with famous buildings
I am from a family of millions
I am from chicken and cake
I am from freedom fighters
I am from a city where people travel just to see its beauty…

I am from this earth, the grass, the stars, the sea
I am from anything
I am from many things
I am from love, spirit and soul
I am from skin and bones that cover me…

I am from fairy tales kids love to read
I am from toys you can only enjoy
I am from the Father of yours and mine
I shine from the clouds and the sun
That is where I came from.

RIGHT NOW POEM

I see pretty blue eyes
I hear soft smooth words roll off his lips
I taste something sweet on his lips
I smell strawberry on his breath
I feel his soft hands on my skin
I think of his eyes searching for me
I sense him walking towards me
I know he loves me
I believe he loves me
I imagine me kissing him
I imagine how long this is going to last
I guess forever.

MUSIC

Music is a song
that makes the heart beats
music is the song that
makes your soul sing...

Music is the rhythm
of the song that your heart listens to
music is the love you believe in
music is what you make of it .

HEART & SOUL

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Love begins
Within the soul.

Only you
Can bring it to your soul
If you truly love
Your heart and soul.

You will then trust the love
And bring it in so try it
And you will love again.

WHAT I'VE GOT & DON'T

A rose for a rose
A heart for heart
A love for a love
But that’s not what I’ve got.

My heart for your heart
My rose for your rose
My love for your love

Now that’s what I've got.

I MISS…

I miss the days when
We ware a happy family
But a pretty flower died one day
After that it was never the same.

At a time I miss those days
When I thought I was loved
But now I know that
It’s all about C and J --
That they haven’t broken up.

What about me?
Am I not a part of this family?
But don’t worry about me...
Because I am going to live!

PAIN

You ask how a person
So young have so much pain
Try to walk in her shoes
Bet you’ll feel the pain
Then you will not have to ask her why
She is in so much pain.

I loved your poem about music -- I write songs and perform music myself and I often write stories and poems about music. Your words seemed to sing with the joy of the music itself.
Thank you for sharing your words.

    Kanisha,
I love your poetry and I hope you continue to write. I want to say once you are published, I taught her.

  3. The poem titled "What I've got and don't" it amazing. I am really glad you shared that with us.

I think it is great that you took the time to give all of your poems a title. Sometimes that can be the hardest part of writing something.

What a talented young person you are. Your poems are amazing and I can visualize you reading the poems out loud as I read along. I hope that when you are older you will think about performing your poems for a live audience.
